Start with the exact package.

Use the selected flavor and size’s price, then copy servings per container from that exact label. A scoop, capsule or packet is not automatically one serving. If a label says “about 30 servings,” the result is an estimate based on the number you enter.

For a case, enter the price and total labeled servings for the whole case. For example, if a case contains 12 bottles and each bottle has 2 labeled servings, enter 24 servings and, optionally, 12 items.

The formulas

Cost per labeled serving

Package price ÷ labeled servings in that package.

Cost per item

Package price ÷ number of items in that package.

Lower unit-price percentage

(Higher unit price − lower unit price) ÷ higher unit price × 100.

The percentage uses the higher unit price as its denominator. A lower price per serving can still come with a higher total package price. Compare both figures before deciding.

Worked example

Illustrative numbers, not WCN offers: package A costs 30.00 and contains 30 labeled servings. Package B costs 45.00 and contains 60 labeled servings, in the same currency.

• Package A: 30 ÷ 30 = 1.00 per serving.
• Package B: 45 ÷ 60 = 0.75 per serving.
• Package B’s unit price is 25% lower: (1.00 − 0.75) ÷ 1.00 × 100.
• Package B still costs 15.00 more upfront for the whole package.

What a lower unit price tells you

It tells you the cost of the unit you entered. It does not establish equivalent formulas, ingredient amounts, serving sizes, effectiveness or personal suitability. Match the actual products, formats and labels before treating a price difference as a comparable saving.
